At ExposureProtocol.com our mission is to provide information on the standard of care for bloodborne pathogen exposure protocols. The information is provided to assist physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, and medical administrative personnel with up to date information on the evaluation and treatment of healthcare workers, first responders, law enforcement personnel, and others who may sustain a needlestick or sharps injury, or blood or body fluid exposure as a result of an occupational injury.

The book was reviewed in September 2006 and is still up to date with the current CDC guidelines. The only changes in the new guidelines involve choice of drugs and the book does not contain drug recommendations as it was known at the time the book was written that changes would occur and drug choices were specifically excluded for that reason. In addition drug choices may vary from area to area of the country and one needs to consult with an Infectious Disease specialist in their specific area to see what drugs are recommended for use in that location.
